2024 Update – AirTag Not Allowed

For our beagle Sniffy’s flight from Los Angeles to Melbourne, we were not permitted to use an Apple AirTag on his PP60 crate. This is because Lithium batteries were not allowed in the cargo hold.

To be honest, this would apply to every suitcase checked in and was a textbook line ‘no lithium batteries allowed’. We don’t think the crate was x-ray’ed or anything. But, we could not risk our dog NOT being allowed on the flight so we removed the AirTag from the crate.
