Morning Ritual at Moab Coffee Roasters and Doughbird
Our day began with a visit to Moab Coffee Roasters, where the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee greeted us. Whether you’re a fan of a simple espresso or a creamy latte, this place does not disappoint. Next on our list was Doughbird, a local favorite for doughnuts. From their classic glazed to their adventurous maple bacon, Doughbird has a flavor for every palate.
Fun at the Moab Dog Park
No trip is complete without a visit to the dog park, especially if you’re traveling with your furry friends. The Moab Bark Park offers a spacious area for dogs to run freely, surrounded by towering red rocks providing a spectacular backdrop.
Exploring the Wonders of Arches National Park
With our morning cravings satisfied, we set out to explore Arches National Park. Known for its over 2,000 natural stone arches, the park covers an area of 76,679 acres. Here’s how we spent our day:
- Delicate Arch: Starting with the iconic Delicate Arch, we hiked a 3-mile round trip. It was moderately challenging but entirely worth it for the view.
- Balanced Rock: A quick stop at Balanced Rock amazed us with its precarious formation, a must for any visitor.
- The Windows Section: Filled with various arches, it’s a perfect area to wander and capture the scenery with your camera.
Venturing to Canyonlands National Park: Island in the Sky
In the afternoon, we drove to Canyonlands National Park Island in the Sky district. This elevated mesa offers spectacular panoramic views and is just a 40-minute drive from Arches, covering 337,598 acres in total.
- Grand View Point: This 2-mile hike provides breathtaking vistas perfect for soaking in the vastness of the park.
- Shafer Trail Viewpoint: Offers a quick stop to see the winding roads below that seem like veins running through the earth.
- Green River Overlook: We caught a picturesque sunset at this spot, ending our day on a magical note.
