Embarking on a road trip from Melbourne to Perth is a legendary adventure that spans over 3,400 kilometers of stunning landscapes. As dog owners, we understand the importance of ensuring our furry companions are as comfortable and entertained on the journey as we are. The following are some of our favorite pet-friendly stops along this scenic route.

Pet-Friendly Stops

Our journey began in Melbourne, and we mapped out the entire route with our dog’s needs in mind. To make the most of this trip, we made sure to stop at various places that not only welcomed dogs but also provided a relaxing atmosphere for all travelers.

Swan Hill

Approximately 342 kilometers from Melbourne, Swan Hill is a great first stop. Known for its rich history and natural charm, it’s an excellent place to stretch both human and canine legs.

Adelaide

As we continued west, our next major stop was Adelaide. Around 750 kilometers from Swan Hill, Adelaide boasts numerous dog-friendly parks and accommodations.

Port Augusta

Located about 300 kilometers northwest of Adelaide, Port Augusta serves as a convenient rest point before the long drive to Perth.

Kalgoorlie

The historic city of Kalgoorlie, found approximately 1,200 kilometers from Port Augusta, is known for its goldfields and dog-friendly amenities.

Perth

Finally, upon arriving in Perth, we found several parks and accommodations that welcomed our dog with open arms.
