As we navigated the endless stretch of road on our journey, the thought of stopping in Norseman for the night seemed like a welcome reprieve. Our destination was the free RV site, a haven for travelers seeking a place to rest without the added expenses, and the promise of a relaxing break from the long drive.

After hours on the road, the sight of Norseman was a relief. Located in Western Australia, it is the last major town before the Nullarbor Plain. As dusk approached, the rain started to fall. It was a typical rainy night in Norseman, and we were eager to set up our temporary residence at the RV site.

Despite being a free site, we were pleasantly surprised by the amenities available. Here’s a breakdown of what we found:

- Marked walking paths nearby, great for stretching our legs after the drive.
- Pet-friendly, which was perfect for our furry travel companions.
It’s important to note that while there are no powered sites or water hookups, the location and facilities more than make up for it, especially given that it’s free.
Weather Conditions
The rainy night in Norseman presented a unique challenge but also added a rhythmic ambience to our evening. The average annual rainfall in this area is approximately 300 mm, making rainy nights somewhat rare. We came prepared with raincoats and waterproof gear, which allowed us to still enjoy a brief walk under the canopy of our umbrellas.
